FAQ
Frequently asked questions about planning with a travel advisor
The questions I get most about custom trips, Japan and Fora hotel perks. Don’t see yours? Just ask, or head straight to my booking page.
Getting started
Is the consult really free?
Yes. Your first consult with me is free, with no obligation. We talk about where you want to go, how you like to travel and your budget, and you decide from there.
How do I book a trip with you?
Head to my booking page and tap “Start booking”. It opens my Fora client portal. Already a client? Book or request your trip right there. New here? Use the link in the form to become a client. It takes about a minute.
How does working with a travel advisor work?
You book a free consult, tell me about your dream trip, and I design a custom itinerary around your style, dates and budget. Once you approve it, I handle the bookings and stay available while you travel.
Do you charge a planning fee?
Your first consult is free. Every trip is different, so please reach out for details on planning. We’ll talk about pricing on that free consult, before you commit to anything.
How far in advance should I reach out?
As early as you can, especially for cherry blossom season, autumn leaves, holidays and honeymoons. Popular hotels fill up fast. That said, reach out even if your trip is coming up soon and I’ll see what’s possible.
Where are you based? Do I need to be local?
I’m based in Whittier, California, in Southern California. Planning happens by phone, video and message, so I work with travelers across the US.
Japan
Do you specialize in Japan?
Yes. Custom, multi-city Japan trips are my specialty—Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Mt Fuji and Kawaguchiko, and more. I’ve tested the route myself.
When is the best time to visit Japan?
Cherry blossom season (usually late March to early April) and autumn leaves (roughly late October into November) are the most popular, and the busiest. The exact timing changes every year with the weather, so I plan trips that still feel great if the peak shifts.
How many days do I need for Japan?
Ten days is a great first trip: Tokyo, a night near Mt Fuji, Kyoto and a taste of Osaka. With a week, I’d usually suggest fewer bases so you aren’t spending your trip packing.
Perks & bookings
What hotel perks do Fora advisors get for clients?
At many luxury partner hotels, my clients can receive perks like complimentary breakfast, resort or hotel credits, and room upgrades or early/late check-in when available. Perks vary by hotel and rate, and I’ll tell you exactly what applies before you book.
Do you only plan luxury trips?
I love a great hotel, but I plan around what matters to you. Some of the best meals are street food. I’ll help you decide where to splurge and where to save.
Can you help with group trips or wedding blocks?
Yes. I handle group bookings, wedding blocks, corporate events and retreats. You focus on what matters, I’ll handle the rest, so your guests simply arrive.
What happens if something goes wrong during my trip?
You’re not on your own. If plans change or something isn’t right, reach out and I’ll contact the hotel or help sort out the next step.
